Police Corporal Clarence Cameron is Antigua and Barbuda’s latest road fatality.
Cameron was driving his car along All Saints Road late on Tuesday evening with a passenger when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a culvert before hitting a light pole.
Cameron was thrown from the vehicle, according to reports.
Antiguans took to social media to send condolences to Cameron’s family.
“Cameron boy…I really can't believe it, man, but the Almighty knows best. Take your rest now, brother. The one and only ‘gazoo’,” a friend of the policeman commented on Facebook.
Others have called on drivers in Antigua and Barbuda to obey the motor vehicular rules.
“Condolences to the family and speedy recovery for the other person. I hope this will prompt other drivers to act responsibly when driving a vehicle. I see too much nonsense with driving here, which puts my life and other drivers at risk. Overtaking when there is oncoming traffic. Overtaking near a corner and all the other madness. Speed kills,” a woman remarked.
